Cultural Diplomacy in the Levant: Perspectives of Romanian Diplomats

The mission of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization stems from the need for a new vision on the global approach to the cultural, social, religious and geopolitical issues present among the states in the Levant.

Put simply, our efforts are aimed towards re-evaluating a region so fragmented in terms of doctrines, ideologies, trends and ideas and its long history of tensions, escalations and social contradictions.

The Cultural Diplomacy in the Levant: Perspectives of Romanian Diplomats project is set to organise a series of debates on themes of life, society and culture in the Levantine space, aiming to make a better understanding of the region’s past and of the quotidian realities affecting this part of the world – which has and continues to operate as a cultural and conflictual melting pot – more accessible to the younger generations. There are certain socioeconomic markers on whose basis we might, to a certain extent, anticipate the future of the world in a regional and global context, as we all know the dynamism this region has and continues to contribute to the global geopolitical equilibrium.
