The fifth issue of the prestigious publication of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization – “The International Journal of Levant Studies” – included in the prestigious Index Copernicus database at the beginning of the year, has now seen publication.
“"The strength of our scientific journal lies in its ability to construct an overall vision based on specific analyses of tangible and intangible heritage, religious traditions and myths, as well as open or frozen conflicts, approached from the perspective of cultural diplomacy – an editorial goal that has, until present, been insufficiently exploited, at least in Romania and the Balkans.
The theories of historical science and of current political developments, combined with field studies in cultural geology, geography, biology, archaeology, sociology, and ethnology, will constitute the main topics we present to both established researchers as well as a younger generation interested in learning about the general context of the Levant, whose stability has often determined world peace," argued Emeritus Professor Emil Constantinescu, the President of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization, a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Journal of Levant Studies alongside: Winston P. Nagan – Director of the Institute for Human Rights, Peace and Development at the University of Florida (US) and Member of the Board of Trustees of the World Academy of Art & Science; James Galvin – Professor of the Modern History of the Middle East at the University of California (Los Angeles, US); Anna Sapir Abulafia – Professor of the Study of Abrahamic Religions at the University of Oxford (UK); Ora Limor – Professor of Medieval History and Conversion Literature at the Open University of Jerusalem; Dan Grigorescu – Emeritus Professor at the University of Bucharest and scientific researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization.
