The Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization has prepared an intellectual incursion into centuries and millennia of history, by way of its exhibitions and collections, presented in spaces evocative of the spirit of the Ancient Greek civilization: Thēsaurós, Bibliothēkē, Dĭắlogos.
We hold that we have a duty to preserve and capitalise upon the millennia-old superimposed civilizational strata of the Levant, to rediscover the tradition of peaceful exchange and subtle negotiation between peoples belonging to different, yet complementary, civilizations.
Freedom of conscience, tolerance and pluralism are among the values that may help us find the way out of the night of hatred and division in order to build new bridges between cultures and civilizations.
The members of the general public that visited the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization during the Days of Open Doors had the opportunity to view exhibitions that aimed to present the activity of the Levant Institute and converse with its researchers in the dedicated spaces of the Thēsaurós, Bibliothēkē, Dĭắlogos and the exhibitions halls titled Natural and Cultural Heritage, The History and Civilization of the Levant, Recent History and Cultural Diplomacy and the Culture of Peace.
