The Annual Meeting of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization’s Scientific Council and Advisory Board, attended by the leadership of the World Academy of Art and Science
On October 11th, the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization held the annual meeting of its Scientific Council and Advisory Board, with the leadership of the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) in attendance.
Five members of the Board of Directors of the World Academy of Art and Science are also members of the Institute’s Scientific Council: Garry Jacobs (CEO), Alberto Zucconi (Director of the WAAS Board of Trustees), Nebojša Nešković (Secretary General), Fadwa El-Guindi and Thomas Reuter (members of the WAAS Board of Trustees).
Attending members of the World Academy of Art and Science were presented the defining concepts underpinning the Institute's endeavours, as well as overviews of its institutional and research partnerships, ongoing programmes and projects, publications and exhibitions organised during its five years of activity. In addition to the presentation of the Institute’s review, participants also touched upon the World Academy of Art and Science perspective on advanced scientific research, the relationship between society and academia, and the relationship between scientific research and the university curriculum.
