Istanbul, February 7th 2019
On the 7th of February 2019, on the occasion of the 22nd Eurasian Economic Forum, an official signing ceremony was held in Istanbul marking the inauguration of a partnership agreement between the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization and the Marmara Group Foundation. The two institution’s representatives, who share the same ideals for peace, socio-economic development and a meaningful dialogue based on the understanding of the Other, were Emil Constantinescu, President of the IASLCC, and Engin Köklüçinar, Vice-President of the Marmara Group Foundation.
President Constantinescu highlighted the importance of this collaboration for cultural diplomacy: “Our institutions’ collaboration, the collaboration of the academic and the business environments in Romania and in Turkey can act as a model for the way we may capitalise upon those aspects of our common past that bring us together, rather than those that pull us apart, and of the way in which we might use the opportunities of the present in order to build a better future for our countries, for the countries of the Levant and for the world at large.”
The Marmara Group Foundation, the organiser of the annual Eurasian Economic Forum, has over thirty years’ experience in promoting peace and social dialogue.
