The students from the Classics department, coordinated by professor Maria-Luiza Oancea, read the and analyzed the ancient Greek treatise "De virtute et vicio - Peri aretes kai kakias", written in the Attic style by Plutarch (1st-2nd century AD), part of the famous collection "Moralia". This short work supports the idea that virtue is achieved in time, slowly and with effort, while vice is part of man's natural disposition. In the introduction, using the allegory of clothes and perfumes, the author states that material things support the inner ones, but cannot generate them.
The course organized by professor Anca Dan (Centre National de Recherche Scientifique, Paris) was rescheduled for Friday, 7 p.m.
