Day 6 was dedicated to Philology.

The lecture of professor So Miyagawa (National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics), Digital Humanities and Coptic Studies: Digital Gateway to Roman and Byzantine Egypt, focused on the importance and use of the archives and digital databases for the study of Coptic.

Professor Alexandros Alexakis (University of Ioanina) read and analyzed from a stylistic perspective, emotional passages from the description of Thessaloniki's siege in 904, from the work of John Kaminiates, showing the importance of rhetorical devices in describing human suffering occasioned by this war, in his communication, Literary aspects of War and Peace in the De Expugnatione Thessalonicae of Ioannes Kaminiates.
