The 43rd Reunion of the UNESCO European Geopark Network, Aalen, Germany

Professor Dan Grigorescu, Scientific Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization, attended the 43rd reunion of the UNESCO European geopark network, held between the 26th and 30th of March 2019 in Aalen, Germany. On this occasion, Professor Grigorescu presented a poster exhibition titled Glimpses of Ancient Lives in UNESCO European Geoparks. The exhibition comprises 16 separate posters presenting, in chronological order from the Precambrian to the Quaternary, the most important fossil records unearthed in European geoparks. The exhibition is the result of a project that Professor Grigorescu has worked on for four years as the coordinator of the Fossils workgroup of the European Geopark Network, on the basis of data submitted from 30 distinct geoparks.

The exhibition saw great interest from the participants to the Aalen reunion, but also attracted local residents who visited the exhibition housed at the local City Hall.
