On March 2nd, 2023, the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization, represented by President Emil Constantinescu, and the Inter-Parliamentary Coalition for Global Ethics, led by Shoshana Bekerman, partners in the project to build a shared curriculum for peace on the basis of the “Abraham Accords,” participated in a symposium organized by the “Sapienza” University of Rome and attended by notable university professors and researchers active in Italy.
The previous day, accompanied by religious leaders of the Abrahamic faiths, President Constantinescu and Shoshana Bekerman presented the project in the Italian Senate, during a meeting hosted by Senator Esther Mieli.
The objective of the project’s initiators is to encourage and support mutual agreements between the partner states to the “Abraham Accords,” aiming to implement more robust education on the culture of peace and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals at all age groups as a means to achieve world peace and combat violent extremism, hate speech, racism and anti-Semitism.
The models of good practice outlined following the discussion sessions will be presented before the United Nations and made available to national and European MPs as well as to educators, the media, religious leaders and policymakers alike to utilize in accordance with their specific national and regional needs.
