Rethinking World Order

Between the 13th and 15th of March 2025, the President of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization, Professor Emil Constantinescu, was in the Azerbaijani capital attending the 12th edition of the Global Baku Forum organized by the “Nizami Ganjavi” International Centre, a long-term partner of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization.

The 2025 edition of the Global Baku Forum, focusing on Rethinking World Order: Turning Challenges into Opportunities, was structured as a series of plenary debates tackling some of the most important topics of current global interest: Geopolitical Shifts: Responsible Partnerships versus Rivalry; Reimagining Multilateralism for a Multipolar World; The UN Pact for the Future: Building a New Global Consensus; The Path to Peace; Middle Powers in the New World Order; Rebuilding for Peace: Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Regional Stability; COP29: Breakthrough to Belem – Accelerating Transformation; The Future of Europe; New Technologies for a New World; Global Health in Crisis: New Frontiers in Preparedness and Equity.

As had become tradition, the Global Baku Forum was concluded with a session dedicated to younger voices, titled Youth speak, we listen, where the future leaders of tomorrow were afforded the opportunity to present their own vision of the future and ask questions of the world leaders in attendance about the current course of a global society in full flux.

The 2025 edition of the Global Baku Forum was attended by over 300 leaders from 60 different countries, including 25 former heads of state, 15 former heads of government, 10 current officials of the United Nations Organization and 25 former national ministers and deputy ministers.
