Athens, Greece, 6th - 7th March, 2019

The 10th International Black Sea Symposium, organized around the theme of "The Black Sea - Silk Road Corridor: Building Bridges of Cooperation" was held in Athens, Greece between the 6th and 7th of March, 2019. The International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) launched the initial International Black Sea Symposium (IBSS) in 2009, in response to a recognized need for better transnational cooperation across the wider Black Sea region. Now in its tenth year, the IBSS builds on the success and positive impact of its previous editions to bring together the next generation of stakeholders sharing an interest in the area of the Black Sea, with a particular focus in the pivotal role of this region for the resurgence of a modern route of the fabled Silk Road. The Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization was represented at the gathering held in Athens by Mrs. Andreea Grecu - Ciupală, General Director of the ISACCL.
